I almost forgot about LSG on Wednesday.
Please don't forget that you need to bring a pillow and sheets for the dorms! Review the list that was handed out today and make sure that you are well dressed for the weather. (I strongly recommend rainboots!)
See you then!

Introductory Paragraphs
With regards to your introductory paragraph, like we in the modeled example, it's important that you:
1. Introduce the topic. Hook the reader with something interesting about the issue (maybe a stat) and why should they be interested?
2. State your thesis. It should be short. Don't ramble on. One simple sentence will do.
3. Map out how you're going to prove it to them. Tell the reader what three arguments you're going to use to prove your point.
Mr. Charalambous
P.S. When you're working on the body of the essay, don't forget the topic sentences! Enjoy your weekend!

Update for April
Hi everyone,
We would just like to take a minute to update you on our programming for the next month. Over the next couple of weeks in language we have a two tier focus: in reading, we're working on summarizing and synthesizing information in text. In writing, we'll be developing research essays -- form, format etc.
Please don't forget that this Friday (tomorrow) you're News Cast video is due and is scheduled for viewing in class. Similarly, please keep on top of your research for your Geography assignment on the environmental issue of your choice.
Lastly, Lake St. George seems to be a go! For those who haven't brought in your $50 deposit, tomorrow is your last day to bring it in -- that's LSGs due date (not mine) so please don't forget!
Best regards,
Mr. C
P.S. Tomorrow is the last day for the book fair!

LSG
I'm sure you've all heard by now: Lake St. George is a definite possibility! My fingers are crossed but we may be going this May (15-17). Stay tuned for more information. Permission forms will probably go out on Monday.
Have a great weekend everyone! (And make sure you keep on checking the homework page!)

Tomorrow
Hi 7A,
We'll be wrapping up our "news" unit soon with the completion of our last assignment which I'll introduce on Tuesday.
We'll also be wrapping up reading articles as well -- expect that we'll be finished it sometime this week so please make sure that you're still reading articles on a regular basis!
Have a good weekend!
