Answer these questions for Friday's class:
1
1. Look at the map of New France/Quebec that was distributed last class. Why do you think the British find it difficult to capture Quebec?
2.
2. Why was Wolfe victorious at the Plains of Abraham? How did he win?

3. How do you think the "Canadiens" (French-Canadians) felt when they realized that the British had conquered New France?
Finally, on Friday's class I will be posing one final question to wrap up our unit on New France. It will have to do with why we still speak French in Canada today. Look in your notes and gather up any and all information related to that from our New France unit.

Next history class I will be posing a question for you to answer in class regarding Quebec's French character and to why we speak French in Canada. I want you to spend the weekend thinking about what we've been learning and discussing in class and think about the reasons Canada has a French and English identity!

-Mr. C

October 5, 2012

Remember everyone, next Friday your New France posters are due. You'll have the period to put your last touches on your assignments but it will be due at the end of that class.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Make sure you complete your primary source work sheet for Friday! One sentence per source is enough.

P.S. Think of it like a historian: how would a HISTORIAN use the primary source to learn about the past? If, say, they found old tattered clothing, what might that say about the person who owned it?
